How to Design a Roofing Postcard That Gets Calls (With Examples)
You've got a list of homeowners with aging roofs. Now you need a postcard that makes them pick up the phone.
The 3-Second Rule
A homeowner glances at your postcard for about 3 seconds. When it says "Your roof may be over 20 years old" and they know it IS that old, they keep reading.
What to Include (Front)
A bold headline. Not your company name — a benefit. "Is Your Roof Over 20 Years Old?" One compelling image. A before/after photo of a real job. Your phone number — BIG. The largest text on the front.
What to Include (Back)
Your offer. "Free Roof Inspection" is the standard and it works. 3-4 bullet points. Licensed, insured, years in business, 5-star rating, financing. A QR code. Link to your Google Business Profile. Website and email.
What to Skip
Too much text. White space is your friend. Multiple offers. One clear offer, one CTA. Cheap design. Spend $50-100 on a freelance designer if needed.
Size Matters
Go with 6x9 oversized format — physically larger than everything else in the mailbox. The extra cost is minimal and response rates are higher.
Multi-Touch Campaigns
Use 2-3 touches to the same address, spaced 3-4 weeks apart. With Lead-Spy, you can re-mail the same list easily. We print and mail 6x9 postcards for $1.90 each.
