What Data We Collect & Where It Comes From

Property & permit data (public records):

We collect property addresses, owner names, mailing addresses, parcel IDs, and building permit records (dates, types, status) from publicly accessible government sources including municipal permit portals, county property appraiser databases, and open data platforms. This information is part of the public record and available to any member of the public.

Customer account data:

When roofing contractors register for Lead-Spy, we collect their name, email address, company name, and payment information (processed securely by Stripe — we never store credit card numbers).

Website analytics:

We use Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, and Facebook Pixel to understand how visitors interact with our website. These tools may collect IP addresses, browser information, and browsing behavior through cookies.

How We Use This Data

We use property and permit data to identify homes that may have aging roofs, based on the absence of a recent roofing permit. This information is compiled into targeted lead lists that our customers — roofing contractors — use for direct mail marketing campaigns.

We use customer account data to manage accounts, process payments, and communicate about our services.

We use analytics data to improve our website and marketing efforts.

Who We Share Data With

Roofing contractors (our customers): We provide compiled lead lists containing property addresses, owner names, and mailing addresses. This data is sourced entirely from public records.

Service providers: We use Stripe for payment processing, Lob for direct mail printing and delivery, and standard analytics providers as described above.

We do not sell customer account data to third parties. We do not share personal data with advertisers or data brokers beyond the public record information that forms our core product.

Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the data we handle. Customer accounts are password-protected, and payment processing is handled by Stripe's PCI-compliant infrastructure. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Homeowner Rights

If you are a homeowner and your address appears in our data, you have the right to:

Opt out of lead lists: You can request that your property address be excluded from all future lead lists and direct mail campaigns generated through Lead-Spy.

Access your data: You can request to know what information we hold about your property.

Request correction: If any information about your property is inaccurate, you can request a correction.
